About JBS International and RCORP-TA
JBS International is a consulting and professional services firm that helps public and private clients improve health, education, and social services. This is accomplished by public health messaging regarding behavioral health, chronic diseases, and maternal care, as well as using data science and analytics to guide policy changes and evaluate community programs. JBS International works closely with HRSA (Health and Resources Services Administration).

My role was Graphic Design Intern II designing for RCORP-TA, which is a smaller sector under JBS International. RCORP-TA aims to aid rural communities around the nation facing the ongoing opioid epidemic.

RSV (Reverse Site Visit) Presentation
Once a year, JBS International hosts an event that showcases the achievements and challenges conquered. This showcase is a presentation in Washington, DC, consisting of all the presentations employees have been a part of. The RSV was created in InDesign and separated into 3 different PDFs due to the total size being over 700 pages. I collaborated with my supervisor, Erin, to construct and perfect the layout.

My target audience was a wide range of government employees, healthcare officials, opioid resistance teams, and everything in between.
PowerPoint Template Designs
My goal was to create a fully functional, visually interesting, conceptually cohesive, and PowerPoint Template system for the Communications Department in 2 weeks.

For all typographical and hierarchal decisions, I referred to the HRSA Style Guide, which was used as a basis for all stylistic choices in RCORP-TA. Tone and levels of formality were up to my discretion, so I wanted to create three sets that can be used in varying levels of formality and audiences. Referring to the Section 508 standards for visibility, I ensured that color contrast was compliant to accommodate people with disabilities.

I collaborated mainly with a Technical Expert III named Kari, who provided what she was looking for in a template and provided feedback consistently throughout the process.
MailChimp Newsletter Design
During my internship, I collaborated with the Communications Team, and learned how to create a email campaign design in MailChimp. The goal of the redesign was to create a template that is editable, easy and intuitive user experience, cohesive with the brand's style guide, and increased user engagement from the Grantees while staying in compliance with Section 508..

The left image is how the emails were usually formatted, and the right image is my redesign.
Internship Gallery
Here are some of the less intensive projects I worked on during my internship! It lasted for a month, but I met some very kind and talented people along the way.
